You're a Virgin Who Can’t Drive

By Astylizedhysteria

My friend Holly alerted me to the fact that 16 years ago, to the week, Clueless was unleashed on the world. And every teenage girl who grew up watching John Hughes movies suddenly had a movie that spoke to them. I mean, us. Let’s face it, if you’re around my age, you loved this movie. You LOVED this movie. Like me, you probably started talking like Cher and Dionne, shopping at Contempo Casuals, and wishing for a supercool gay friend to go shopping with. And her computer program that put her outfits together? I’m still waiting for that to be real!!

In celebration, here are a few of my favorite images and quotes.

Remember Cher’s feathered pens? I had quite the collection of pens just like hers.

Plaid and knee-high socks and mini backpacks. Oh, yes, I jumped on this trend too.

“Okay, so you’re probably going, “Is this like a Noxzema commercial or what?” But seriously, I actually have a way normal life for a teenage girl.”

“Sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex.”

“Ms. Stoeger, my plastic surgeon doesn’t want me doing any activity where balls fly at my nose.”

This was absolutely my favorite outfit in the entire movie!

“Christian said he’d call the next day, but in boy time that meant Thursday.”

Coincidence that crop tops are back in style? I think not!

“Do you prefer “fashion victim” or “ensembly challenged”?

“Dionne and I were both named after famous singers of the past, who now do infomercials.”

“This is where Dionne lives. She’s my friend because we both know what it’s like for people to be jealous of us.”
