You Know You Love Me

Alright alright I’ll be frank… I haven’t been reading at all so…  I don’t have much to report on the book front, but I can definitely say that the book isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was.
I crossed it out as a boring novel with inconsistencies, in terms of it’s ability to engage me, but it’s not all bad. It has it ups and down and right now I am at a section of the book that is supposed to be an up but I am so busy in real life, so I haven’t been able to read it on a regular basis.
And hey, I am really loving this Roberta chick. She seems like something special.
Now I understand why the is of a cover of a girl in a boat. At first I wasn’t sure if the people in charge of picking covers made an error but I guess not? She must be the person on the cover.
As you can tell, I am at the part where she and Clyde see each other by the lake side and they are so excited to see each other, that they completely forget about all the social cues they have to follow and their jobs.
I really sympathize with what they are going through because Clyde is lonely and he deserves to be with somebody who brings him joy. I know, I know, I said I wasn’t going to be rooting for him anymore but the book doesn’t reveal enough about Roberta’s thoughts and character for me to fully trust that she’s a cool chick but I’m sure that as I read on, she will grow on me.
Still at the part where Clyde throws all reason into the air to try and get a relationship with Roberta. I don’t know how I feel about this because clearly, she plays a big part in his downfall.
I think so because of two reasons, one: being with her can make him loose his job and social standing and therefore push him in a corner where he feels like he has to lie. This path will inevitably lead to the reveal of his secret and ruin him. Two: He is so taken by her that she could probably convince him to do anything and he would probably accept it because she is beautiful and gives of an innocent air, as if she has his best interest at heart and would never do anything to harm him. Right now, that is her charm.
I am writing all this while I am obsessing about Gossip Girl. I am on a new binge watch to finish every episode of Gossip Girl.  It’s affecting me interest in this book and actually after writing about how I feel about my current position, I am a little bit interested in reading.
For your record I am on page 275 of 856 pages. Yeah yeah yeah I have a long way to go but unless you are reading the book with me you can’t judge.
Tell me, what do you think about Roberta? Do you trust her? Do you think she is a good girl or a secret bad girl? As you can tell Gossip Girl is in the brain but you know you love me xox…I’m just kidding.
Comment below and tell me why you’re mad, or what you feel about the book. Don’t be stingy with your thoughts!
