It’s only Tuesday, but we’ve just been given a pick-me-up from the music gods. Two of our favorite bands, Landlady and Rubblebucket, have been touring together lately following the release of their new albums, Upright Behavior and Survival Sounds. Proving the pairing was made in weird music heaven, the two bands have collaborated on a cover of Nina Simone’s “Be My Husband”, and the result is divine. On top of minimal instrumentation, Kalmia Travers’ sultry croons paired with Adam Schatz’s densely soulful voice is such a fantastic coupling that we can’t help but hope they collab again soon.
