Koreless is a Welsh 18 year old whose productions fall tentatively into the dubstep camp, but with a keen focus on atmosphere and melody. A gently bobbing synthline is cut up by an echoing snare on 'Up Down Up Down'. Utterly captivating (feel free to donate to support the free-release on fledgling label Pictures Music):

Koreless provides a typically sparse arrangement of light-footed 2-step on his remix of Jacques Greene. The vox'ed diva sample floats atop a sea of compressed hi-hats, a gentle him of white noise and some deep clicks 'n' clacks. Sublime stuff:

Ill Blu's remix of Hot Chip dropped last year and it's a stormer. Coming on like Bassjacker's 'Klambu' in the opening few seconds it quickly ushers in those shuffling beats. With flutters of hollowed-out tropical percussion, the whole thing sounds like a marriage between UK Funky and Balearic house, sunny and ecstatic:

Kingdom brings a jittery drum workout to Jacques Greene's r'n'b sampler. Yes, it doesn't differ from the original a great deal, but that's why they call it an edit..:

Throwing Snow burst onto the scene last year with the highly acclaimed 'Un Vingt/Cronos'. Since, he has put his mutated 2-step touch to Gold Panda's 'Snow & Taxis' and now to Brixton's PhOtOmachine. It's punchy, cut-up 2-step with a slightly off-kilter edge. Keeps your eyes on Throwing Snow, big things are predicted:

The man who could have won the award for most-heavily-hyped-artist-in-2009 had a comparatively quiet year in 2010. So what's he been up to? Well he's teamed up with Kavsrave to bring this shuffling slice of funky; pent up marching drums and the odd bell make this a restrained but effective offering from the big J.O. Most exciting of all, however, is his forthcoming release on Hotflush: a couple of lovely Detroit-nodding house cuts.
