You Can Sizzle It Your Way at Pepper Lunch!

By Clari @clarisaysblog

These past weeks I have been truly busy with work mainly because I am helping out another team. I'm not complaining though as I love to help and I enjoy the work. But with this busyness comes a small problem. I couldn't attend blog events.

Since I also need to recharge, I would take my family out for a quick lunch or dinner. We try to visit restaurants or cafes we haven't visited before like the ones I posted recently. In this blog post, I am sharing with you another first.

Pepper Lunch (ペッパーランチ Peppaa-ranchi)

Kunio Ichinose, a Japanese chef and inventor wanted to serve quality fast food. Yes, you heard /read "quality fast food" in one sentence. And yes, he was able to do it by simply devising a different method of cooking!

At Pepper Lunch, diners get to cook their meals over a patented electromagnetic plate that is heated up to 260 degrees Celsius within one minute. They can also season their dishes honey brown sauce (Amakuchi) or garlic soy sauce (Karakuchi) with a dash of freshly ground pepper for an even flavourful meal.

This "fast-steak" restaurant concept is a total hit. Since opening in Japan in 1994, Pepper Lunch (ペッパーランチ Peppaa-ranchi) now has over 200 Pepper Lunch outlets in Japan and all over Asia, including South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines!

The first Pepper Lunch branch in the country opened on May 16, 2008, at the Power Plant Mall. But since I'm a northern girl, I visited the one at Ayala Malls Vertis North!
Timeless Favourite

For our first visit, we tried their timeless favourite, the Pepper Rice meals. We got Beef Pepper Rice PHP 220, Salmon Pepper Rice PHP 275 and Teriyaki Beef Pepper Rice w/ Egg PHP 255.

Honestly, it was a fun experience. The moment our plates arrived, we hurriedly cooked our meal and seasoned it. The only problem with this is if you have an elderly, you really have to be fast. But it was easily fixed because their staff was really kind. Kuya approached our table and prepared everything for my abuelita so that my Ninong and I can mix ours.

Now for the taste. It's really lovely eating a warm meal. It soothes your stomach and it tastes great. We're glad about our orders but would surely love to try other items in their menu. They offer Combo Meals. The Meat Trio Deluxe, Salmon & Chicken Steak and the BBQ Chicken Steal & Hamburg sounds good. They also have a selection of Cheese Curry Rice, Cheesy Omelette, Teriyaki & Yakiniku, Teppan Pasta, and Premium Steak.

Have you tried eating at Pepper Lunch? Would you mind sharing your experience or a meal you would like me to try? Simple leave a comment below or message me on social media.

Happy eating!
