I am so excited to share Lucie and Ben’s wedding at Woodhall Hotel back in early spring. Their day was filled with so much fun, happiness and general shenanigans that it is hard to even know where to start.
Oh yes…. I know where to start. With Lucie’s dad’s promise to do some seriously amazing dad-dancing in the evening including such highlights as the “lawnmower” and the “sprinkler.” That really sums up Lucie and her family to a “T” – awesome and just on the right side of crazy.
Lucie had one of the most unique and gorgeous dresses I have seen in ages – it had such a fantastically “early 90’s” retro feel to it and it looked absolutely perfect with her natural hair style. Gah! She is so effortlessly beautiful it makes you just a bit grumpy to know that she is also absolutely lovely and totally hilarious. Pffft.
Ben spent his morning trying to turn his dining table into an ironing board whilst maintaining a perfectly groomed beard. It wasn’t an easy job – but someone had to do it.
About a dozen hugs, tears, high-fives and celebratory “woop”s later and they were officially starting their new adventure as husband and wife. After they spent some time just hanging with their loved ones and having a beer (or two) we took Lucie & Ben out for a little stroll in the garden at Woodhall Hotel for some quality “cuddle time” whilst we shot a few photos. The weather was perfect with just enough clouds to keep it from being too warm and not a drop of rain in sight.
The evening party was topped off by an awesome DJ and Lucie’s dad’s promise that there would be a little “air guitar” went to a whole new level when he found some inflatable guitars in our prop box and showed everyone what a real rock star looks like.
Sun + wedding + family + friends + beer + fun = awesome.
