The finale of The Biggest Little Air Show, put on by the Hiller Aviation Museum, was an aerobatic performance by local airshow performer Rich Perkins in his Yak-54 “Russian Thunder”. Rich, a retired USAF Lt. Colonel, is a former U-2 pilot that performs in a variety of aircraft and certainly knows how to wring the most from the Yak-54. First flown in 1993, this is one of only two Yak-54s operating in the United States. The Yak-54 is a development of the world aerobatic champion single-seat Yak-55M. Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm.
