Xiaomi Foldable Pop-up Camera Smartphone Patent Filed

Xiaomi is working on a foldable Pop-up camera smartphone. The Chinese tech giant already filed a number of foldable smartphone patents already but none of them goes live. Recently, a Xiaomi foldable smartphone with a sliding design at front 3D renders goes live. Again 3D renders have been created by letsgodigital for another foldable smartphone.


Xiaomi has filed a patent on September 25, 2020, at the Hague International Design System and is a part of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). Later the publication was published on November 20, 2020.

As 3D renders suggested, Xiaomi’s new foldable smartphone can be unfolded into a tablet format. There are a 4.6 inches outer display when the smartphone is folded, the outer display has very thick bezels at all edges and the upper edge also consists of a receiver grill.


Talking about the inner display there is no notch or punch-hole on the display because of the dual pop-up selfie camera. At the back, the phone also has a triple rear camera setup on the top left corner. The camera configurations are not known at the time.


There is also a volume control button and power button at the right edge of the smartphone while the sim tray is on the left side and two microphones are also placed at the bottom and top. The patent renders also suggested the USB Type-C and speaker grille at the bottom edge. Xiaomi has patented the foldable pop-up smartphone to provide a full-screen display solution on foldable smartphones. Moreover, Xiaomi triple foldable patent and also a patent with earbuds inside the phone also spotted previously.


These innovative design smartphones are unveiled at MWC generally. So these smartphone hands-on photos and videos will be seen on MWC 2021 that will be going to held in June 2021 instead of February 2021 due to the current pandemic.
