Interestingly missing from the map are any plastic bag bans in Japan, a country that goes through incredible amounts of them. The country is, as always, a study in contrasts. Sometimes leading the world in environmental policy such as energy conservation and EV technology and sometimes acting like an environmental backwater with their concrete beaches and parks.
