The prime minister telephoned Nawaz Sharif and both discussed the prevailing political situation in the country, particularly the consequences of Tehreek Minhaj ul Quran head Tahir-ul-Qadri’s planned massive march onto Islamabad on January 14.
The two leaders agreed that democracy has been restored in country after prolonged struggle and sacrifices by the political forces and is continuing successfully, adding no one would be allowed to derail the present democratic system.
Mr. Ashraf assured Nawaz Sharif that the government is committed to hold fair, free and transparent elections as per law and the constitution.
