ABOUT: A bit of info from Odell:

Know your Hop Farmer. That’s what we believe. Wolf Picker, named after the classic hop harvesting rig, celebrates our decades-long relationships with hop farmers, and our obsession with new talent in the world of experimental hops. This year, we’re featuring the newcomer known as Strata which brings notes of grapefruit, peach and mango to an IPA unlike anything we’ve released.

MY THOUGHTS: Odell has done it again with yet another stellar IPA, and with a new type of hop: Strata hops, from Oregon. I always enjoy trying new beers, especially with ingredients I’ve never had. And as far as I know this is the first beer I’ve tried that is brewed with Strata Hops. I got lots of tropical notes at first sniff, specifically mango and peach, so the above description from Odell was, shall we say…right on the nose?! (sorry!) Wolf Picker is a nice easy-drinking IPA coming in at 5.5% ABV. And as a bonus to this great-tasting new beer, I am in love with the label! Such awesome art work. Check out Wolf Picker today, as it’s only around through March. Pairs well with Nashville Hot Chicken, Lemon Meringue Pie, and PIZZA (my fave!).

And here’s a fun, informative video about the process of creating and growing hops; take a minute to learn about Experimental #331, aka Strata Hops. Cheers!
