With a Simple Online "Share," You Can Help Kellogg’s Share Breakfast with Needy Children!

It’s National Breakfast Week! The purpose of this week is to remind everyone that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”! You’ve heard this before, I’m sure, but this is especially relevant for our children, who are still growing and developing. Proper nutrition can help their brains and bodies grow well, but nearly one in five kids go without breakfast each day. Check out this infographic on the “Power of Breakfast”:

Since breakfast is so important, Kellogg’s, along with celebrity spokesperson, Taye Diggs, has launched its 3rd annual Share Breakfast movement. Through this initiative, Kellogg’s and Action for Healthy Kids want to encourage families to join in their effort to share more than one million breakfasts with kids who might otherwise go without. When you complete simple tasks, such as tweeting, “liking” on Facebook, “pinning” on Pinterest or sharing videos, you can help Kellogg’s raise up to $250,000 in grants for school breakfast programs -- the equivalent of 1.25 million school breakfasts! Watch this special video message from Taye Diggs:

At my children’s school, everyone gets a free breakfast! The kids at our school are very fortunate to have this option available to them, but not every child does. If children are unable to get a good breakfast at home, school breakfast programs can help them get a nourishing start to their morning. Imagine how hard it is to learn when your tummy is grumbling for breakfast! You can see what a big difference this could make to a child’s academic performance. My husband and I always make sure our boys go to school with food in their tummies, and I want to be sure that their classmates are arriving well-fed, too.
I hope you’ll help Kellogg’s ensure that kids have access to a healthy breakfast by visiting their “Share Breakfast” website and “share, tweet, pin or watch” to help Kellogg’s share breakfast with kids in need. Just a few minutes of your time can help make a huge difference in a child’s life.
