Wish You Were Here? …a Wedding in Cornwall

By Claire

I have the next best thing. Especially in the world of weddings and blogs we all share, I have something wonderful for you this morning. Scroll through the pics, turn your imagination up full blast and imagine you too can feel the sand between your toes and the wind in your hair, hear the waves and enjoy the laughter of all your friends and family: join me and enjoy Leah and Glen’s wonderful wedding in Cornwall.

Thank you to Sarah of Green Photographic for submitting this gorgeous wedding for the blog. Watch out for super-pretty peony bouquets, sweet-as-ice-cream pink and cream cupcakes and a beautiful wedding wishing tree to inspire your own wedding day!

Before the wedding

The theme colours for Leah and Glen’s wedding are deliciously sweet and pretty pale cream and pink – it’s such a delicate light theme it works beautifully with the seaside wedding location and lovely summer sunshine.

Leah puts the final touches to her wedding make up – she’s gorgeous, and I love the delicate lace strap on her wedding dress, right in the middle of the photo.

The wedding: love, smiles and laughter

The wedding ceremony: as Leah’s dad walks her down the aisle she only has eyes for Glen. It’s as though they’re having to be prised apart before the wedding even begins – a lovely moment!

Wedding reception at Polhawn Fort, Cornwall

Polhawn Fort is a beautiful wedding venue overlooking the beach. The website made me smile: the fort’s history is a peaceful one, as it was built purely to persuade Napoleon not to attack English shores. Apparently, it did the trick!

A great idea for a wedding wishing tree: branches painted white, held down with pebbles and decorated with a few paper roses and some crystal beads. The lamp alongside is a clever touch which adds sparkle! Leah and Glen have added a basket with little tags for guests to write, some scatter crystals and pens, as well as the little vintage frame with an explanation of what to do!

A wedding day walk on the beach

In this quiet little corner of Cornwall, there’d be no excuse not to take a stroll on the sandy beach. I love these photos: the sea and skies speak of a world of possibilities ahead for the bride and groom.

There’s something so eternally romantic about the seaside. How many couples have walked arm in arm across the sands here?

Portraits in the evening sunshine

Guess which bridesmaid’s hair I want?! Those cute bridesmaid dresses are great: really different, contemporary and fun. Leah’s dress with all that lace though is just beautiful.

 The first dance

Leah and Glen’s wedding feels like such fun. What an amazing couple – so romantic, so much in love, so very happy and loving every moment. The first dance is no exception!

Vintage wedding photo booth

Who doesn’t?!

This cute picture from the vintage wedding photo booth is lovely – so much fun for the children and adults alike. I love these two pictures together: the little boy and girl, and the bride and groom.

Congratulations Leah and Glen, and I wish you many many more years of laughter and love as husband and wife. You make a great couple – and this last picture really makes me smile!

Thank you to Sarah from Green Photographic for sharing the wedding photos – I do love a wedding with a sense of fun, and what could be better than paddling in the sea on Cornish shores?!

Now… who’s got to get back to work, and who’s joining me in gazing out of the window and dreaming of the seaside for a bit? Hmm?
