Winter to Summer Wardrobe

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
Here in the prairies, when we get winter and summer, they come quickly and abruptly.  We rarely get a spring and a fall.  We might get a few weeks of warmer winter weathers in fall and a few weeks of cooler summer weather in spring.  But other than that.. the snow melts and suddenly it's hot enough for shorts.
So, I have been needing summer clothes for the kids much quicker than I expected.

I decided to reuse some of my boys 'grown out' clothes to be reused for new summer wear.
These shirts fit except for the length in the sleeves.  And the pants they just grew out of in length.

To create the shorts, I used an existing pair of shorts to mark out the length and added 1/2 an inch for the jeans and an inch for the brown pants. I used the tutorial from Make It and Love It for the shorts.

For the shirts, I just did what I did in this post. Easy makeovers, free clothes.

And just like new!   I created 4 pairs of shorts and 4 shirts for the boys, and 2 pairs of shorts and 2 shirts for my daughter.   For the cost of:  an hour and a half of my time.

I just love the new 'distressed' cut offs for the boys.  So cute! If only I could get them to sit still for a picture of them in their new clothes.  Oh well.

Thanks for stopping by!!
