WindForce Wins Gold at Business Excellence Awards

WindForce PLC, one of Sri Lanka’s foremost experts in the renewable energy production, won the Gold Award at Business Excellence Awards 2022, organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in the large scale Infrastructure and Utilities category.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Lasith Wimalasena, received the award at a ceremony held at the BMICH, under the patronage of the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka Eric Lavertu.

WindForce was established in 2010 with just five employees. From these humble beginnings, WindForce has emerged a giant in the country’s dynamic renewable energy production. WindForce provides electricity, from renewable sources to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) in Sri Lanka and the respective government utilities in their overseas operations. There are a total of 28 plants, comprising of solar, wind and hydro plants in their portfolio. WindForce is also a truly international company with projects in Pakistan, Uganda and Ukraine. The company has been commended in the countries it operates in due to high quality service.

“In the near future, we plan to use the latest technologies to expand renewable energy generation. The company is keen to contribute to the national grid and for sustainable energy production. I am especially grateful for our staff, without them we won’t be able to achieve these victories,” Managing Director of the Company, Manjula Perera said.

WindForce has won a number of local and international awards in its history and the company plans to further expand its business operations overseas to bring in much needed foreign revenues to the country.
