Will Joe Biden Be The Choice Of Democrats In 2020 ?

Democrats are unified in their opposition to Donald Trump, and the odious policies he has put forth. And quietly, Joe Biden is emerging as one of the leading voices of that Democratic opposition.
As Politico reports, Joe Biden has been accepting nearly all invitations to speak, and those invitations are coming in daily. In addition, reports are that Biden and some of his associates are planning a strategy for a possible presidential run in 2020 (with a campaign beginning about 18 months before the election).
Personally, I like the idea of a Biden candidacy. He comes from a blue collar background, and has always defended the rights of workers and ordinary citizens -- unlike the rich buffoon in the White House right now. I believe he could unite Democrats of all kinds, and strongly appeal to the general public.
Biden didn't;t run in 2016 for a couple of reasons. First, it was right after the death of his son, and a grueling campaign was not something he wanted for his family to have to go through at that time. Second, Biden is an astute politician (unlike Bernie Sanders), and I think he understood that the mood of the Democratic Party was that it was time for a woman to be president -- and Clinton was the obvious choice.
But 2016 is over. Now it's time to find a candidate in the next few years that can boot Trump out of the White House. And a recent poll shows that candidate could well be Joe Biden. Note that the charts below show that Biden is by far the Democrat most favorably viewed by the Democratic base. About 86% of Democrats have a favorable view of Biden.
And the general public likes him too. That same poll showed that if the election was held now, Biden would defeat Trump by a 14 point margin (54% to 40%).
The charts below are from a survey by Public Policy Polling -- done on March 27th and 28th of a random national sample of 677 registered voters, with a margin of error of 3.8 points.
