Wildlife Photographer of the Year at The CHQ Building

By Thedublindiary @TheDublinDiary
Lately I've been trying to pay more attention to the photos I take and their quality. I've even signed up for some photography lessons. Recently though I've been reminded of exactly how far a journey I have to make in order to become a really amazing photographer, even to become an average one!!!

I dropped into the Wildlife Photography of Year exhibition in CHQ at Georges Dock the other day and was stunned speechless by the amazing and touching photographs on display. Below are a few of my favourites ones... actually these are the only pictures I took before I realised that photography was prohibited... ooops!

This event has been running for 49 years now and this is the first time it's come to Dublin. It's open everyday until the 31st of August and entry is €6.50 for adults. The entrance fee allows you to view a selection of the 43,000 entries, including the winner, to the competition and also to vote for your favorite among them.

I have to admire the new owners of CHQ, they are battling hard to turn this building around with different events including the recent Biennial and the Craft Beer Festival in March. There are now seven food outlets in the building so why not drop down to the exhibition and stay for some grub?
