Wilder Style: Snakes on a Bag, C/o Christian Louboutin

By Thewilderthings @TheWilderThings

Christian Louboutin's shoes, with their eye-catching, drool-inducing red lacquered soles, are in my mind about as good as it gets (especially when they look like these). But the design house recently proved to me that everything can indeed get better when they tossed this gem into the mix (more after the jump).
Now, I'll be honest, snakes are the one thing that absolutely freak me out, nature-wise. They are slithery, scaly, and slimy and squirmy and laskhglksdhglk. I can't even go there.
Which is why I'm always surprised by how much I love clothes and accessories with snakes on them. Jewelry, too. I would wear this bag on my shoulder in a second, and yet if you put a living snake anywhere near my shoulder, I'd probably pass out.
The bag works so well because of the way the snake winds its way down the shoulder strap, echoing the shape, and because of the delicacy with which the colors and beads play with the materials. It's all so rich: the jewel-tones of the green against the crushed velvet strap, the shiny gold piping next to the suede...yum. It's probably up there as one of the only things that I would considering wresting from the scaly clutches of an anoconda if it meant I got to keep it.
And that, my friends, is saying something.
