The Tamil People’s National Alliance will extend its full support to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, party leader and former Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council C.V. Wigneswaran said in a statement issued on Saturday.
Wigneswaran is the only member from his party elected to Parliament at the last General Election. Wigneswaran said his party was not ready to oppress the people at this moment by making various political maneuvers.
“Although Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s UNP had only one Parliamentary seat, he went on to become the Prime Minister of the country and likewise although we have only a solitary seat in Parliament we will use it to solve Tamil people’s issues,” Wigneswaran said.
