Why We Love Pet Food Delivery Service (And You Should, Too!)

By Upliftingfam @upliftingfam

My husband has always been a dog lover and once we got married we adopted our first dog (Katie) from the pound. I personally had to get used to living with dogs because I was more of a cat person growing up. When my sister in law had a litter of puppies a few weeks before my son’s first birthday, my husband was set on bringing home another puppy. I have to admit that I wasn’t too thrilled and didn’t want to deal with potty training. Not to mention the chewing phase that dogs go through for the first year or so of their lives. When the puppies were ready to leave their mom, we brought home our newest baby even though I wasn’t too thrilled.

Of course, even though I didn’t want the additional dog he has been a life saver since I got laid off. The more I spent time with him the more I grew attached to Rhino. He would follow me around and sit next to me where ever I ended up. Rhino has been instrumental and its like he knows when I am not feeling very good. He will come and lay next to me or give me love. He opened my heart and I ended up talking my husband into a third dog.

I went to the pound and looked online for the right dog but as the weeks went by I kinda gave up on finding the right dog. We wanted another small dog. Then one Saturday one of my friends posted a photo of some cute Yorkie mix puppies. I asked my husband if he wanted another dog and he asked “what kind”. When I said a Yorkie mix, he immediately said “yes”. So we told my friend that we wanted one of the puppies. Later that evening we were picking up our new puppy, Buddy.

Buddy has also grown attached to me since I am home all day long. He loves to sit next to me, play, and will give me love when he knows that I don’t feel good.

Of course, you know that feeding three dogs is a chore and they get quite upset when we forget to feed them on time. My dogs tend to graze throughout the day so I like to make sure that they bowl stays full so that all three of them get enough to eat. Of course, they also love getting an occasional treat too. I typically buy a 10 lb bag of food at a time so that I am not constantly running back and forth to the store. I have to take the kids with me to the store because I am not supposed to lift heavy stuff so when I found out Petco could deliver the dog food to my door step, I went to check out their selection of dog food. I noticed that they didn’t carry my particular brand so I decided to switch them to something similar to what they are eating. They eat the small bites dog food and I found several different varieties such as Science Diet, Eukanuba, Blue and a few others. These brands are actually better for your dog because they are made with natural ingredients and don’t contain the cheap fillers.

I quickly picked out a bag of food, some treats, and bones and I immediately saved 15% off on qualifying items on my order. Since my dogs can quickly go through food, I set it up to send me a box of goodies every 3 weeks so that I never run out of food. I love this feature because my kids don’t always tell me when their food supply is almost empty since I rarely feed them. Now I don’t have to worry about making a food run for the dogs especially if the kids aren’t around to help me (their after school activities keep them busy). Signing up with Petco’s Repeat Delivery is quick and easy.
