Why The Pink Panther Strikes Again is Here!

1. It has Geoffrey "Catweazle/Amicus horror regular" Bayldon as Dreyfus' psychologist.
2. It is a James Bond spoof. It does the job better than any LindsayShonteff hatchet job and yet still is full of ITV sitcom stars! There's Leonard Rossiter! Michael "Arfur in On The Buses" Robbins in a pink dress and wig singing with the voice of Julie Andrews! John Clive, guest star perennial manning a gay club!
3. The train/helicopter chase was filmed on the Meath to Drogheda freight railway, and has Irish soap actor Jim Bartley (Bela from Fair City, for our Irish friends) as a policeman. Best film made in Ireland!
4. It has a giant laser beam and a castle.
5. The titles have the Panther dressed as King Kong, Maria n the Sound of Music, Dracula, Alfred Hitchcock and the shark in Jaws!
6. Herbert Lom is excellent as the broken-brained megalomaniac Dreyfus, reverting back to his Phantom of the Opera role on the organ (Is it canon?).
7. It has the best Oktoberfest scene ever. Big burly men dressed as barmaids with pins sticking out of their pincushion breasts! Deep Roy, recently seen in everything from Star Trek to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing an assassin dressed as a child dressed as Robin Hood in a buttock-length outfit. And Omar Sharif!
8. There's an inflatable floating Quasimodo disguise!
8. It was released on VHS by trash-meisters and UA partners Intervision, until Warner got the United Artists video rights.
