If you have had your computer for a while, then you probably have noticed that it is not as fast as it used to be.  Have you experienced the blue screen of death?  Has your computer crashed recently? Why is your computer so much slower than it used to be?  There are many different things that can cause your computer to slow down perform at a lower level.

  • Too many programs loading at startup.  The rule of thumb here is to delete the programs you do not use or need.  This will enable your computer to boot up faster and perform better.
  • A corrupted or bloated registry.  If you are a windows user, then you have a registry.  The registry keeps a record of everything you do on your computer, what programs you use, what web sites you visit, what programs you download, etc.  It stores all of this information on your computer, which can lead to corrupted files and an inevitable slowing down of your computer.

  • Malicious programs.  Viruses, malware, and spyware, stealthily attach themselves to your computer without alerting you to their presence.  They can cause major destruction to your computer and should be removed at all costs.
  • Hardware problems.  If your computer’s hard drive is not hooked up properly or working to its full capacity, then your computer can overheat or crash.  Fixing these problems are necessary to ensure your computer’s longevity and health.
