Why Cold Winter Nights and Pyjamas Go Hand in Hand

By Tamarstylist @tamarstylist

Winter is coming, it's obvious to tell by the sudden appearance of Christmas goodies in the supermarkets, the Boots adverts make you want to stock up on flu remedies and when you get home from work the first thing you do is put on your pajamas.

Winter is the perfect time of year for getting cosy on your sofa with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate, but you hardly want to be relaxing in your day clothes especially not if they're soggy from the wonderful British rain.

Nothing beats the feeling of putting on a pair of brand new pajamas when you get home from a long day at the office, snuggling under a blanket with a loved one and watching all of the exciting story lines on TV that build up to Christmas specials.

Top tips for keeping warm this winter

  1. Pop your pajamas on the radiator

Yes, it may sound odd but trust us, this feels incredible! When you get home from work, put your pajamas on the radiator for about 10 minutes before putting them on. Or, if you have a particularly dedicated loved one, get them to do it before you get in. It feels like you're being cuddled by hundreds of warm arms, all at once. A beautiful pair of plaid cotton pajamas such as these by DKNY should do the trick!

  2. Dressing gowns will beat your winter blues

If you don't want to put pajamas on so early in the day, or if you want something to keep you even warmer when you first get out of bed then you need a warm fleecy dressing gown. DKNY have aptly named their fleece dressing gown 'Cuddle' which should give you a massive clue as to what it feels like wearing one. In fact these dressing gowns are so warm that you wouldn't even have to wear anything else underneath, great for when you're feeling cheeky.

  3. Being warm doesn't mean looking drab

Just because you are in pajamas or loungewear for most of your winter days, it does not mean that you have to look drab. So many films show beautiful female celebrities waking up, looking gorgeous and you can recreate that same feeling by owning a pair of stunning pajamas such as this Coba set by Le Monde D'Alba. Looking for something a bit more revealing? The Calvin Klein Essentials Nightdress looks and feels great, is warm enough for winter and shows off all your best bits too!

So there you have it, top 3 tips for keeping warm this winter that beat your usual advice of hibernating for the whole season!
