The first time White Castle tried NFT art, it brought the brand to life in this new part of the digital world and raised a lot of funds for team members who wanted support. A major amount of the net revenues from the sale of the NFTs, totaling $25,000, were donated to White Castle’s Team Member Relief.
The 17th of December marks the year anniversary of the commencement of the campaign with Doodle Labs, which includes the publication of White Castle’s NFT collection of generative art on the Ethereum blockchain. It celebrated White Castle’s 100th birthday with a collection of 5,001 NFTs designed by renowned digital media artist Che-Yu Wu.
Following Superstorm Sandy in 2012, White Castle’s third-generation leader and then-CEO Bill Ingram launched the White Castle Team Member Relief Fund, an emergency support system meant to aid any team member who experiences an unexpected hardship. White Castle team members can qualify for a $1,500 relief grant.
“One of our primary responsibilities as a family-owned business is to make sure we improve our community, and that starts with our team members,” said Erin Shannon, fourth-generation family member and corporate relations manager at White Castle. “At the heart of this innovative technical collaboration is making sure the soul of our company, the team members, know we have their back in their time of unanticipated need.”
The Team Member Relief Fund is a component of White Castle’s philanthropic program “Castle Shares.” The Ingram White Castle Foundation, whose mission is to give physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual nourishment to individuals who yearn for knowledge, independence, and self-sufficiency, provides partial funding support for the program.
