Whisky Review – The Glenrothes Whisky Maker’s Cut

Booze Review

On this week's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table, we once again revisit The Glenrothes Soleo Collection. This time around, we're going to sample their Whisky Maker's Cut expression which clocks in at 48.8% ABV. For those of you that like arithmetic, this makes the Whisky Maker's Cut 22% higher octane than the Sherry Cask Reserve and 12 YO Soleo Collection expressions that we've recently reviewed. In a word: Yowza!

Before we get to our review, below are a few words from The Glenrothes about their Whisky Maker's Cut expression:

Inspired and shaped by the hand of master whisky maker Gordon Motion, using only first-fill sherry-seasoned casks and bottled at his preferred strength. Creamy vanilla, orange peel and nutmeg character.

That's not a whole lot of detail, but it was more than enough motivation to get us to give this whisky a try. Without further ado, here's this week's episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table for your viewing pleasure...

Many thanks to the fine folks at Forte Mare PR for sending us this very generous sample!
