Where Should ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Go Next?

So a pair of new Assassin’s Creed games have hit the shelves and after the top notch effort of Black Flag we can only expect great things.

Ok, ok, never mind. Let’s look to the future. If Ubisoft get their heads out of their arses and get back to making the game FUN rather than trying to squeeze DLC cash out of players these a ten locales it might be fun to murder people in. My knowledge of history is sketchy at best, so shout out if I get something wrong.

Boxer Rebellion

This one is built for the AC franchise. Some people of China are unhappy with the continuous influx foreign influence, coupled with the stress of a drought, leads to all hell breaking out. Russians, English, Americans and the Chinese are at each others necks. Swords, canons and fortress walls to scale, and a colourful culture to work into the assassin’s uniform.

Aztecs

The lost culture of the Aztecs was, by all standards, an interesting looking one. Known for their deadly blunt weapons (and chocolate) and stunning architecture this would add a different flavor to a series that is increasingly beginning to look the same with every entry.

Edo Era Japan

Awesome palaces with fun rooftops to run over, lots of bladed weapons and political upheaval. The assassin’s uniform would look rad with an old school Japanese make-over. Also ninjas would provide a fun opponent.

Russian Revolution

The freezing winds and high rooftops, street crowded with revolutionaries, protestors and soldiers…it’s a perfect setting for an assassin to be moving through the shadows and eliminating the key players. Given how much back-stabbing went on during this upheaval you could even be playing both sides against each other.

Celts

Winding the clock right back to one of the earliest civilisations in the Western world. The agricultural based society had strong warrior roots and went toe to toe against the Roman Empire. It would be a very different setting for the series, and heavens knows that it needs to mix things up. Also I’m descended from the Celts and we’re awesome.

Ancient Greece

Who wouldn’t want to run about on those funky pillared temples? When they weren’t philosophising it was all swords and sandals, lending plenty of room for murdering and political subterfuge. Plus there could be ties made between the increasingly barmy franchise mythology and Greek mythology.

Future City

They’ve been hinting at it since day one. Hurry up.
