“Bottom line is, even if you see ‘em coming, you’re not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come, you can’t help that. It’s what you do afterwards that counts. That’s when you find out who you are.”
So where have I been? My mom got sick and was rushed to the hospital last Saturday. Since then, she’s had some surgery and is recovering well, although she’ll probably be laid up for a while longer. So my plans to move to Cambridge have changed and I’m moving home to help my folks out while things sort themselves out. Home is about 30 minutes outside of Boston, in a quiet and boring suburb. I can’t say I’m looking forward to all the things that come with living outside of a major city. I haven’t driven a car in four years! But there will be some perks from moving home, like living with two professional cooks and having a washer/dryer in the basement.
I’m not sure what this all means for my blog. I’m certainly not stopping completely, but it’ll be a little while before I can get back to a regular schedule. I’ll be very busy training Chloe and Calliope to act as nurses. I’ve been telling my mom that they’re going to keep her company and she thinks I’m kidding. But I fully intend to get itty-bitty nurses costumes for the kitties.
So that’s the story. I’ll be back when I can. I hope you stick around. Oh, and if you can guess where that quote is from, I’ll give you a bajillion trillion dollars. For realz.
