Story: Where Hands Touch starts as Kerstin (Cornish) tries to find safety for her children. She has a bi-racial daughter Leyna (Stenberg) raised in Nazi Germany, seen as different from everyone around them. When they move to Berlin, they try to hide in plain sight. However, the local Nazis turn on them quickly.

Heinz (Eccleston) sees his son Lutz (MacKay) take a shine to Leyna and becomes one of the few people who tries to protect her. However, with the soldiers cracking down on outsiders, Leyna must fight to survive the war, where nearly everyone treats her differently.

Verdict on Where Hands Touch

Where Hands Touch is war drama following a bi-racial teenager raised in Germany during World War II. She is considered an outsider and must learn the daunting reality of survival under the brutal Nazi regime.

This movie shows another side of the victims of Nazi Germany. We all know the horror that the Jewish community went through, but here we focus on a black teenager in a white family. It highlights her troubled time, while trying to make the most of what she has. All while putting together a love story which puts more people at risk. The movie has a forbidden romance angle, which can overshadow the bigger parts of what is happening. Otherwise, we get a solid story focusing on another person’s struggles in war.
