What Would The U.S. Look Like With A Multi-Party System?

Most democratic countries have a multi-party political system. The United States does not. In the United States 532 of the 535 members of Congress belong to either the Democratic or Republican parties. The other three members are Independents. While there are a few other parties, none of them get enough votes to participate in our government.
What would the United States look like as a multi-party system? That's what the folks at Echelon Insights wondered. So they conducted a national survey. In that survey, they gave people a choice between five different parties -- one on the far right, one on the moderate right, one centrist, one on the moderate left, and one on the far left.
