Story: What the Waters Left Behind: Scars starts when an Anglo-American indie band The Ravens pass through a small city. After their latest performance, Billy Bob (Desiderio) meets a local girl Carla (Bravi) who promises the band a place to stay. However, this leads to the rest of the band, Javi (Olcese), Jane (Kovacic), Sophie (Rigon) and Mark (Bishel) being left in an abandoned city.
Now the friends must stay united as they find themselves being picked off by a group of cannibals. They must do whatever they can to survive and make it out alive.
Verdict on What the Waters Left Behind: Scars
What the Waters Left Behind: Scars is an extreme horror movie following a band that finds themselves captured by a group of cannibals. They find themselves trapped in a location trying to figure out how to escape.
This is a movie not for the faint of heart. It doesn’t hold back on the graphic gore involved, which is put together by the excellent effects team. The idea of a group, in this case, a band, finding themselves in a position of needing to fight to survive, is one we have seen before. Most notably in ‘Green Room’, the formula is a strong one and is more about whether they can shock you or not. This has a pure chaotic nature about it, that plays into the environment we are thrown into. Be prepared for one of the most disturbing movies of the year.
Final Thoughts – What the Waters Left Behind: Scars is one of the most disturbing movies of the year.
