What’s the Word: Asado

Because your knife isn’t the only thing that needs sharpening.

Americans like to think they invented the barbecue (or BBQ).  We pride ourselves on grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and baby back ribs.  After the NFL and the FBI, it’s our favorite 3-letter acronym.  But other cultures have been grilling for much longer than we have.  The word asado is Spanish for grill or grilled, and it represents a barbecue culture that dates back to the days when loincloths were still en vogue.
