June 1: June kicks off with the first part of the spotlight on film adaptations of play. Up tonight are Long Day’s Journey Into Night at 8:00 PM, Our Town at 11:00 PM, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf at 12:45 AM, These Three at 3:15 AM, and The Sea Gull at 5:15 AM.
June 2: More stage-to-screen adaptations tonight with Show Boat (1936) at 8:00 PM, Rose Marie at 10:00 PM, Good News at 12:00 PM, Irene at 1:45 AM, Cabin in the Sky at 3:45 AM, and Little Nellie Kelly at 5:30 AM.
June 3: A few more of the stage-to-screen adaptations into today with On the Town at 7:15 AM, Naughty Marietta at 9:00 AM, On Your Toes at 11:00 AM, and Girl Crazy at 12:45 PM. Then it’s on to a whole lot of Billy Wilder with Some Like it Hot at 2:30 PM, The Major and the Minor at 8:00 PM, Five Graves to Cairo at 10:00 PM, Double Indemnity at 12:00 AM, The Lost Weekend at 2:00 AM.
June 6: All sorts of good stuff on today! On the Waterfront at 7:15 AM, East of Eden at 9:15 AM, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at 2:30 PM, Key Largo at 4:30 PM, The Maltese Falcon (1941) at 6:15 PM. Then Marie Dressler has her first turn as Star of the Month with Chasing Rainbows at 8:00 PM, The Divine Lady at 9:30 PM, The Patsy at 11:15 PM, Tillie’s Punctured Romance at 12:45 AM, and The Hollywood Revue of 1929 at 2:15 AM.
June 8: The stage-to-screen adaptations are back tonight with A Streetcar Named Desire at 8:00 PM, Miss Julie at 10:15 PM, A Doll’s House at 12:00 AM, Equus at 2:00 AM, and Picnic at 4:30 AM.
June 9: More stage-to-screen adaptations with The King and I at 8:00 PM, Carousel at 10:30 PM, Annie Get Your Gun at 1:00 AM, Guys and Dolls at 3:00 AM, and Kiss Me Kate at 5:45 AM.
