What’s in My Mini Bar? Monday Margaritas

By Remielund @remsluxuryblog

Silver Tray (Marks and Spencer) Glasses (LSA) Straws (Etsy) No one likes Mondays so here’s a little Margarita recipe to make your day a little bit lovelier. I always have at least one bottle of bubbles chilling in the fridge but where do you stock your other favorite tipples? Your very own mini bar of course! I’ve seen lots of marvelous mini bar creations on Pinterest and I’ve decided to add a bit of glamour to my home in the form of a mini bar.  Here’s how to build yours. My love for mini bars probably stems from my love of staying in posh hotels. However, it’s kind of a love/hate thing as every item is off the scale expensive. The best bit about making your own is that you don’t have to pay £7 for a bag of nuts and you can fill it with your favorite snacks (sour patch kids and those decadent chocolate slabs from Hotel Chocolat in case you were wondering) instead of crisps. If you’ve ever stayed in a hotel with a fabulous mini bar, leave me a comment as I’d love to know. Every mini bar needs a solid foundation which in this case is a shiny silver tray. This silver tray from M & S is the perfect size and it was a toss up between this one or this swanky square Bloomsbury bar tray How much do you love the leather handles? Fill it with your favorite tipples and leave a space for a couple of cocktail glasses or in this case champagne saucers. All set? Why not whip up a cocktail to celebrate? This margarita recipe is quick and easy. Above is everything you need to create a cracking cocktail. (The Mexican cashew nuts are just incase you get peckish).

Ice

Tequila 50ml

Grand Marnier 35ml

Lime 2 Table spoons

Salt (for the glasses)

First, prepare your glasses. Moisten the edge of the glass using a lime wedge and twirl it until you have salt around the top. Very fancy! Fill your cocktail shaker with ice. Use the measuring cups to add the tequila, Grand Marnier and lime. This cocktail master class explains it all. Shake it and pour. Don’t forget to use your strainer as you decant it into your salt rimmed cocktail glass. Add a lime wedge to finish and enjoy! Voila! Next purchase? A bar cart for the lounge!
