Hello GlamFam! It's a new " What's in My Bag?!" review. I am so excited about this partnership with Gucci to share my super mini Marmont lovingly named Midori which means green in Japanese! When tasked with choosing a super mini bag, I was torn. Do I go for the neutral or the color? I decided to take a chance with the bold green and couldn't be any happier. Plus you would be surprised at how much I actually wear it!! Basically, it's almost every day! Keep scrolling to read my honest Gucci Super Mini Marmont review.

GUCCI SUPER MINI MARMONT REVIEW

The luxury brand Gucci began when Guccio Gucci opened a humble leather shop in Florence during 1920s. In the beginning, he constructed saddles and other equestrian accessories using the finest leathers. The equestrian details can still be seen today with the horse-bit detail and green and red woven stripe inspired by saddle details. Fast forward the modern day maximalist and glamorous aesthetic that we know today after Alessandro Michele was appointed creative director in 2015. His work has catapulted the brand even more with his quirky and magical ads and runway shows.

Sustainability and inclusiveness are on the forefront of the brand's ethos, and it's one of my favorite things about the brand. They launched their first eco-friendly collection, Off the Grid, using organic, recycled, and bio-based materials. And as of 2018, Gucci's own operations and its supply chain have been entirely carbon neutral. How amazing is that for a global fashion brand?

SIZE and PRICING

The Gucci super mini bag comes in two main designs, the Marmont (what I have) and the Dionysus. Pricing for the Marmont starts at $990 and $890 for the Dionysus.

The dimensions are 6.8″W x 4.5″H x 1.5″D and it fits my essentials - iPhone, card case, lipstick, and car keys. I can fit my small wallet in there but then do not have room for a lipstick, so I've just been using a card case.

This season, they offered the Marmont with double tones with mine have the bright green diagonal leather and emerald green trim. Also, the GG logo was updated with matching enamel and gold tone hardware. It is definitely a statement maker with the gorgeous green color! The new season options have pink/red, red/cream/blue, blue/green, and sky blue/beige. Most recently, they come out with the logo print in multicolor like light blue and pink for $890. They are SO CUTE!! Don't worry neutral lovers. Gucci still offers the bags in neutrals leather (black, red, white, dusty rose, brown) and exotic leather. I purchased online, and the shipping was VERY QUICK which made me happy.

AESTHETICS and CONSTRUCTION

The Gucci super mini is in a matelassé leather with diagonal stitching. The interior is a microfiber lining with suede-like finish and also has a detachable D-ring. By the way, the D-ring is VERY USEFUL for wearing the bag multiple ways. It has a detachable gold chain shoulder/crossbody strap with a 23.6″ drop. The strap can be adjusted by looping under the flap or connecting to the D-ring. (Check out my video below to see the different ways!)

The leather appears to be lightly coated giving it a sheen, but that doesn't take away from the aesthetic (or bother me). It seems well constructed and all seams are intact after daily use for almost every day for a month. I've noticed the bag shape has softened making it easier for me to open and close.

As far as aesthetics go, I've always been a fan of the Marmont shape. It's a classic soft flap-type bag. The Dionysus is also a flap bag and more structured. I read some reviews and based on those went with the Marmont because the softer construction allowed more items to fit.

FUNCTIONALITY

This is a "super mini" bag, and I would call it a SUPER mini bag. It's my most worn mini bag which is saying a lot! I've worn it almost daily since getting it in the mail. I've mentioned before that I don't baby my bags and it's is still as vibrant and gorgeous as the day it arrived. Upon inspection, I don't see any visible scratches.

It's functional for the day for running around. Normally, I wear it crossbody but have wore it as a bum bag around my waist with the kids at the park. I haven't worn it for evening yet, but it would be a fabulous clutch or great for Girls Night Out where you want to be hands-free (like dancing)!

If you are wondering about the color, then I'm here to tell you that it's been wonderful. I've worn it with neutrals/tans as well as other brighter colors. You can see from the above photos that it even goes with pastels. If you want to see for yourself, I did an IG video sharing what to wear with a green bag!

SOS RATING

FOUR AND ONE HALF GOLD STARS {out of five}! I took a half star off because of the price but truly it's worth the cost per wear. Additionally, you can own a designer bag that's functional for less than $900 depending on which one you choose. This is my most worn mini bag, and I get compliments all the time. I treat the green like a neutral and it goes with so much in my wardrobe from brights to pastels to neutrals. It's perfect for the Spring/Summer season and will be a fun pop of color in the Fall/Winter. If neutrals are your preference, then go for black, white, brown, dusty pink, or red.

I've gotten requests for more budget-friendly options so I'm rounding up a few of my favorite mini bags below that are all less than $250!
