What Road Are You On?

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. -Matthew 6:19-21

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. -Matthew 7:13-14

Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. -Matthew 7:21

Do you live for the world or do you live for God? I know I’ve never been of this world and do not want any part of it! I never did.

For those of us in Christ we know this world is not our home, we are just sojourners passing through. During our stay, we have special jobs to do according to God’s plan and will for us.

Are you willing to let go and give everything to God so that he can manifest a great work in you or do you want to serve the devil and be heavy laden with Satan’s continuous ploys to lie to you, steal from, and kill you?

Why glorify the one who hates us (the devil)?

Isn’t is more profound and fulfilling to revere and honor the one who truly loves us (our father in heaven) by choosing to walk with him and go his way? After all, God’s route is the better path to follow. It is the road that leads to truth and eternal life in God’s divine presence.

We are to place no significant value on earthly things but upon what is ahead and beyond. For the things of this fallen world will eventually come to pass. As disciples of our lord Jesus Christ our main focus is to serve him and to exercise the tools that he incorporates within us to further his kingdom to come by sharing the good news and being prepared for his return. latoya lawrence

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. –Colossians 3:1-17
