What is Shilajit?

Shilajit is a Sanskrit word meaning “rock-invincible”, “conqueror of mountains”, or “destroyer of weakness”. Shilajit is an ancient traditional medicine that has been ascribed a number of pharmacological activities, shilajit is found predominately in the Himalayan region bordering India, China, Tibet and parts of central Asia. The existence and use of Shilajit was a closely guarded secret of the Yogis of Himalayas for many centuries.

The Indian Yogis considered it as God’s gift and a nectar of longevity. Ancient Indian scriptures mention of the wonderful powers of this elixir in healing most of the ailments of body and mind. An ancient Vedic Hindu text, called the Charaka Samhita written in 200 B.C. The Charaka Samhita Sutra is an early Ayurvedic text on internal medicine. It is believed to be the oldest of the three ancient treatises of Ayurveda. It is central to the modern-day practice of Ayurvedic medicine and, along with the Sushruta Samhita it is identified as an important source of medical and life understanding and practice in antiquity. states that there is no curable disease in the universe, which is not effectively cured by Shilajit when it is administered at the appropriate time.

SHILAJIT generally speaking is a concentrated historic plant life from the Himalayan region. Himalayan region encompassing India, China, Tibet and parts of central Asia was home to rich plant life right from the prehistoric times.
