Main types of scleroderma

Localized scleroderma
In limited or localized scleroderma, the disease affects the upper and lower cells of the skin. In localized scleroderma, there is also a risk of eye disease uveitis. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of arthritis in localized scleroderma.
Systemic scleroderma
When someone has systemic scleroderma disease, it affects both inside and outside the body. In systemic scleroderma, besides the top surface of the skin, the skin inside the windpipe and the esophagus are also affected. Due to this, a person may have trouble eating and breathing.
The life of a person suffering from systemic scleroderma is very painful. However, due to awareness and proper management, its problems can be reduced slightly.
