What I Wore: Trench Coat

By Savoir_style @Savoir_Style
Over the last few days, I have been hearing a lot about the women empowerment video featuring Deepika Padukone titled "My Choice". I have watched the video and heard both sides, good and bad about it. Some people have praised her for talking about it and many have bashed her. In any case, the video created quite a stir. My problem with the public opinion is that video is not about Deepika Padukone. She is just the messenger.

Look at it this way - You are an artist who is approached by a director with whom you have worked in not one but a few good movies. You trust his vision and you commit to this new project called Vogue Empower. Now here's the thing that stood out the most for me in the video, where it says my choices are like my fingerprints but that's probably the only line that appealed to me. Should the actress have walked away from the project? Probably. She didn't.
Again though, that narration is a man's vision enacted and voiced over by a woman. So do we really want to go on killing the messenger?
No matter what you thought of the #mychoice video, here's a funny take on it which had me in splits. Storm in a chai cup
Outfit-wise, it was time to bring out the trench since last week has been all about rains. I am wearing a striped knit with a pair of burgundy jeans, ankle boots and my favorite bag (apparent here and here).

What do you think of today's outfit? I look forward to your comments. Have a great day!
