I've been lackadaisical and underwhelmed with my outfits of late (hence the large periods of radio silence) and despite sharing my photographic exploits, I'll be sharing what I cook, as well. Up first, sweet 'n' sour meatballs! This is a recipe my mother dredged up from somewhere, and it's one of my favorite things to eat. It works equally well with turkey meatballs as with beef, like I made here (yes, I made my own meatballs!
- 1 package of ground beef (I used 93% lean) or turkey
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt
- Pepper
To make the sweet 'n' sour:
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 can pineapple chunks
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 small green pepper, coarsely chopped
I apologize in advance for the lack of measurements. I just
Dump package of meat into a mixing bowl. Break up so it is not package-shaped. Add above-mentioned spices (and any others you think would be good) and stir thoroughly. Using a spoon and your clean hands, scoop out a spoonful of meat and roll into a ball. Continue until you have used all of the ground beef.
And you're done!
