Oh bloody hell! How horrifying I felt when Cranky told me I kept him up one night because I was snoring! Snoring? No way! That wasn’t me! I only snore when I’m sick and still that is rare!
But wait, I couldn’t help but laugh and thank myself for a little payback to Cranky for the past 11 years of snoring he has dished out causing me to sleep with earplugs! Am I horrible for giving myself major props?
I think not. Trust me when I say, Cranky can wake the dead when he snores! I usually start but touching him and telling him “STOP SNORING”; “ROLL OVER” “SHUT UP ALREADY!” Sometimes he is quick to act but others, I’ll have to nudge him several times only for him to get mad at me for touching him!
Hell, I deserve to sleep too don’t I? Aha! There lies the culprit to my recent snoring madness!
Enter Trazodone
I’ve been having issues falling asleep and keeping asleep at night. My brain is overactive and honestly, after talking with my Family Physician, I think I’ve been sleep deprived. My doctor prescribed me Trazodone to aide with sleeping as well as depression. The first several nights of taking Trazodone I had nightmares. I usually have very vivid dreams but these were to the max and had me crying in the morning.
Because of the dreams and a few other mild side effects, I read the pamphlet that came with my meds and found out that it can give you a stuffy nose. Aha again! This is why I have been waking up with a stuffed up nose! Guess what else? Having a stuffed nose can cause one to snore! (see below)
Snoring issue solved
Within a mere 15 minutes, I have found the solution to why I was snoring! Ha! So what’s Cranky’s excuse? For 11 years he has snored! Sometimes louder and than others but if you are a person who needs quiet to sleep, you’re not getting here unless you where earplugs.
Then I decided to search a bit more on what causes people to snore and how can you stop. I found this great infographic which explains a lot.
