What Are You Craving?

By Jessicavenoy @lovelyjesscuh
If you haven't heard of Her Late Night Cravings then let me tell you... you are missing out! They blog/vlog about fashion/beauty, home decor & everything in between. If I ever need to know about a product before I buy it, I can most likely find a review on HLNC...and an honest one at that!
Not to mention, these two ladies probably are the most eloquent You-Tubers I've ever seen...no joke!

I feel like I know the ins & outs of their beauty/make up opinions so I asked them a few questions that strayed more into other aspects of their lives! .
5 questions each :)
I asked Jayme: What type of food could you eat and never get tired of?

Jayme said: This is a hard question for me because I get attached to different foods all of the time. And yes I said "attached" and it changes from week to week. This week I feel like I could have Starbucks Green Tea (unsweetened with a little Splenda), pepperoni pizza (unhealthy but so good), these oatmeal, apple and walnut breakfast cookies that Mendi's mother-in-law makes (so good!) and Mexican (chips & salsa...I love you but I hate you) forever and be perfectly happy. But ask me this same question next week and my answer will be totally different.
I asked Jayme: What is your favorite book of all time? Jayme said: This question is the HARDEST!! I was an English major (many many years ago) and I must admit that I don't have a favorite of all time but I do have many favorites...and they vary. And I'm going to take you back a bit too for some of my younger/childhood favorites: James and The Giant Peach - Roald Dahl Nancy Drew Books The Baby-sitters Club - Ann M. Martin Anything by Judy Bloom Sweet Valley High Series Possession - A.S. Byatt We The Living and The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand Twilight Series - Stephanie Meyer  CHICK LIT!! - Love Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes, Jennifer Weiner etc. I could go on and on! And Mendi and I are currently reading the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy and it's fantastic, but it is for the more mature readers as in it's a bit racy. :-)
I asked Jayme: What does your perfect/dream day look like? Jayme said: Not to steal Mendi's answer (her question #2) but my perfect dream day would be on a beach somewhere (maybe Mexico where I got married but it could be anywhere) with nothing to do but hang out with my husband Wes and relax while a super nice waiter brings us rounds of tropical frozen drinks and the biggest decision I have to make that day is whether or not we are going to go out to eat or get room service. Oh and we'd end every day watching the sunset. It would look something like this:
I asked Jayme: What is the best compliment that you could get from someone? Jayme said: I think it would be something along the lines that I am a good person. That encompasses so much. For example, it would mean that I'm caring and that I'm there for those around me for anything they need, that I'm reliable, comforting, a good listener, will always help cheer you up or  will just let you cry, curse, vent whatever without judgment. Yes, I'm thinking that being told I'm a good person is definitely the best compliment. I asked Jayme: If you only had time to use 3 beauty products one morning, which 3 would you choose?
Jayme said: Easiest question of all! :-) I'd have to say moisturizer (with sunscreen),  mascara and lip gloss. If I have those 3 items then I'm good to go. If you are familiar with our blog then you already know that we love anything make-up and skincare related.  I try different brands all of the time but am currently loving Lancome moisturizers, Dior Extase mascara and Clarins Gloss Prodige lip glosses. I feel the need to tell everyone I know how much I love these lip glosses (I have Nude, Candy and Papaya). They smell amazing and I just love the color payoff and the formula (non-sticky...can I get an amen!).  via NEXT! I asked Mendi: If you had to choose a color to describe your personality what color would you choose and why?          Mendi said: Wow, Jess, these questions start right off with a bang!  I'll be honest, I had to do my research before I could answer this question.  Maybe that's the first clue to my personalilty...hahaha!  After much deliberation, I decided that I'm a BLUE...and not because I'm sad...that couldn't be further from the truth!  Blue personalities are deep thinkers who prefer to listen than to speak, are sometimes introverted and are at peace with who they are.  Integrity, honor, sincerity and creativity are all blue traits.  I think those characteristics are a huge part of my personality, though there are other color traits that I think I embody too, like turquoise personalities who are very independent and green personalities who desire a very balanced, stable life.

I asked Mendi: What's the best vacation you've ever been on?
Mendi said: I'd have to say the best vacay I've ever had was when my husband, Chris, and I spent 8 days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in early October of 2009.  The first two days that we were there we stayed at the resort where Jayme and Wes were getting married and we had a blast partying it up with everyone.  Their wedding was beautiful and we wouldn't have dreamt of missing it for anything in the world.  The last six days of our trip  Chris and I moved to another resort so that we could have some quiet time to ourselves.  Our resort was practically empty, so it was as if we had the entire place to ourselves.  Being waited on hand and foot, lots of relaxing by the pool and private dinners were just what we needed for six blissful days of heaven on earth.  At the end of the week, we met back up with Jayme and Wes at the airport to all fly home together.  Just talking about it makes me crave doing it all over again!
I asked Mendi: If you could eat lunch with a celebrity who would you choose and why?
Mendi said: Again, this question required lots of thought.  No one person jumped right out at me.  So, I decided to talk it over with Jayme to see if she'd draw some inspiration out of me.  After throwing out a couple of suggestions that I was just "meh" about, she nailed it!  Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out.  Yep, I love him (clearly not in "that" way).  I love his sarcastic sense of humor, his design aesthetics and most importantly...his playful banter with Zoila.  I'd die to have lunch with him, at which point I'd pressure him to offer me a job and I'd insist that he bring Zoila to lunch next time!   I asked Mendi: What is the best advice that anyone has ever given you? Mendi said: My mom always told me that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.  I've remembered these words my entire life and I do my best to live by them.  Of course, I would be lying if I said that I am always successful at this, but then again, don't we all occasionally have our "moments" when we need to vent?  That's what good friends are for!!  I asked Mendi: Since you blog mostly about beauty & fashion, what trend are you most excited for this spring/summer?
Mendi said: I'm on a big scarf kick at the moment...summer "statement" scarves, specifically.  Aztec prints, polka dots, stripes, animal print,  fringe, neon, floral, you name it, I love it!!  I think a scarf is the perfect accessory to complete a spring/summer outfit.  A basic tank, a scarf, jeans and wedges...you're done...it's that easy!  .
Aren't they so fun?! Go over to HLNC & say hi from Lovely Little Things :)
