Seeing that we’re now in summer mode, I have put together three work outfits with a summery feel using colorful pieces, fabrics like linen and white. Now, the point of this series is to help you figure out how to better utilize what you already own in your closet, while also taking it a step further by featuring fashionable pieces in the stores now, with hopes that when you do step out to do a little shopping you’ll feel better able to navigate the stores and will find exactly what you are looking for. Look #1- White Pants
What am I going to wear to work tomorrow – Look 1 by bridgetteraes featuring sports t shirts
If you’re afraid to wear white, check out my tips on how to wear it here. Worn professionally, white can be a great color for work. Here, I chose ankle length pants by J. Crew that look great with a pair of ballerina flats. Instead of stark black, I went with a pair of navy shoes and handbag, which is just as versatile as black, yet more summery looking. For a blazer, bright colored jackets are so popular right now and give you a professional look that feels more seasonal. The yellow striped tank complements bright turquoise and is a great color combination to consider. A great way to look professional in the summer is by choosing office appropriate silhouettes in brighter colors.
Look #2- Colored Pants

If you’re sick of your boring neutral pants, consider bright colors, instead. Summer is the time for linen, however, women tend to shy away from the fabric because of how easily it wrinkles. When shopping for linen, look for linen blends such as rayon and linen, like the pants here by Banana Republic.
Many of us want to dress summery for work, but, with the thermostat in most offices set to “meat locker” temperatures, it’s important to think about working a cardigan into your look. While you could keep a cardigan on the back of your office chair, it’s not a bad idea to work one into your outfit while getting dressed so it works with what you are wearing. Also, considering once you step outside you’ll want to remove the cardigan, make sure your outfit looks just as good without it. Here, the outfit looks great with or without the cardigan.
Look #3 – The Basic Wrap Dress
What am I going to wear to work tomorrow- Look 3 by bridgetteraes featuring agate jewelry
Having a basic wrap dress for work is great in the summer. I chose this green dress from Land’s End because of the color. Worn too often for its versatility, a wrap dress has the potential to bore you to tears by the time Labor Day rolls around. By choosing a color that can be worn a variety of ways, like the green on here, it gives you many options and ways to wear it. Green is a colored neutral, which means that there are few colors that won’t work with it. The more color coordination, the more outfit options. Here, I chose a pink pair of shoes, a metallic tote bag and a multicolored necklace that not only picks up the colors of the outfit, but is a versatile piece which will work with a lot of what you own. The best accessories are ones that work with multiple outfits.
I hope with this series you have gotten some new ideas for exciting work outfits!
