WGBH Come Up Short $300K As Well As Reporting On Itself

Posted on the 21 December 2012 by Notlobmusic @notlobmusic
The Boston Herald considers the story to be doubly newsworthy.
The Boston.com/Globe, Worcester Telegram considers the story to be newsworthy.
But WGBH news? Or WBUR news? Narry a mention.
Since 2009, when WGBH management pulled the plug on "the peoples music" (folk and blues programming) went "single stream" to emulate cross-town rival WBUR's all-talk and news format, I have subscribed to a Google alert for "WGBH". A strange thing happened in today's alert, the fact that "The U.S. Attorney's Office has announced that Boston-based public broadcasting corporation WBGH has agreed to pay a little over $300,000 in a civil settlement to resolve allegations it failed to properly track and account for federal grant money...." was all over Boston and national news sources, but narry a mention.in either WGBH or cross-town compatriot WBUR.

It appears what we have here are cases of
a. inability to report on one's dirty laundry and

b. WBUR being more of a good old boy buddy than a journalistic institution.

The following excerpts are from my daily Google alert for "WGBH"
