Weird-Looking Roll Cloud Spotted in Texas [Video]

Posted on the 16 November 2013 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

This amazing thing was captured on video by a couple in Texas. No need to freak out and think this is the end of the world. You’d be surprised how often these things appear in some parts of the world. Especially in northeast Australia. These long, tube-shaped, horizontal, rotating clouds are called “roll clouds.”

“Roll clouds—sometimes more than one in concentric bands—can also occur on the edges of thunderstorms,” Stephen Corfidi, a meteorologist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) told National Geographic.  ” [a roll cloud] can last for several hours and extend for several hundred miles.”
