Hey, hey–Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Things here were great, I had a really fun weekend and I am now counting down the days until Thanksgiving week because I have the whole week off for vacation!! So, today is my weekly wrap up, but I am going to warn you all right upfront, it was a pretty terrible week. We had our sales and marketing meeting which meant full days of training and long nights of social and team building events. That does not bode well for those of us who like to work out. So…here is what it looked like!
Week: 11/10-11/16
Monday: I decided I was going to take the whole week off of running since I knew the S&M meeting would put a wrench in my workouts and I wanted to give my knees a bit more rest. So, I did T25 total body circuit and 1000m row–I just couldn’t push through to get 2000m in, I was spent but it felt good to be soaked in sweat!
Tuesday: Nada. I went to a CF family night event in NH on Monday evening (it was 2 hours from home) and I didn’t get home until 11 p.m. Some people wouldn’t bat an eye at that, but 11 am is about 90 minutes later than I usually go to sleep! To top it off, I slept terribly and was up on and off all night and was in tough shape when my alarm went off. I knew I couldn’t work out since our S&M meeting kicked off at 7 am and I was in sessions straight through until 5:30 and then had an evening event, so needless to say, there was no time to work out.
Wednesday: Nada. Pretty much the same schedule as Tuesday, sessions all day. I got home late the night before and I was actually starting to feel stabby without my morning workout. I even saw Erin, my spin instructor as she was walking in the building and she was wondering why I was all dressed up and not in my workout clothes…that just added insult to injury! I ended up bagging on the evening event because I hadn’t seen Ashton since Sunday evening and I just needed some time with him. It was a great decision, he was super sweet and cuddly and it was just what I needed.
Thursday: I didn’t make it to my regular Thursday morning Vinyasa yoga class and I didn’t teach my Group Power class in the evening but I did manage to sneak in 30 super sweaty minutes on the stair climber for the daily win! I needed to sweat and it felt so good!
Friday: I wanted to do the stair climber again but it was taken so I did the PiYo lower body video followed by the upper body video. It wasn’t a super taxing workout, but it felt good to move.
Saturday: I left my house at 9 am and didn’t get back until just after 7 p.m. I had a fun-filled day in Mystic, CT celebrating my niece Gianna’s 16th birthday. We went with 2 of her friends and my sister-in-law. We went to the aquarium, then went for massages and ended the day at a hibachi restaurant for dinner.
It was awesome, and I haven’t laughed so hard in a really long time. Teenage girls are hysterical. Aside from a good ab workout from laughing, after I got home and put Ashton to bed, I told myself I HAD to do something active. Robyn left to go to a friend’s house for a guys night so I popped in T25 and did the total body circuit (the hardest of the T25 videos.) During the workout I questioned why I picked this one, but afterwards I was glad I did it.
Sunday: Does cleaning the house, doing multiple loads of laundry, meal prepping, washing dishes and getting caught up on Sons of Anarchy count? If not, then, I didn’t workout. I wanted to do something but during Ashton’s nap I had a lot of things I didn’t get to do during the week, so I got caught up so I could start the new week on a good foot.
Overall, it was a pretty crappy week for workouts. In addition to not working out like usual, almost all my meals last week were provided to me and I am feeling pretty gross. The week it’s back to clean eating and bringing my breakfast and lunch to work like usual in the hopes that I can start feeling like myself again. It’s amazing how 1 week can really impact how you feel. Wish me luck for getting back to my normal!
It’s a new week…make it count my friends!

Question of the day
How do you deal when life messes up your workout schedule? Does it affect you emotionally too?
