IMDB Summary : A veteran assigned to extract Earth’s remaining resources begins to question what he knows about his mission and himself.

Oblivion was based on novel written by Arvid Nelson and Joseph Kosinski. As a sci-fi fan and high tech computer graphic movie observer, I highly anticipated this film. What makes me want to rush to the cinema is because this movie is a combo creation of Tron : Legacy director and Rise of the Planet of the Apes producer, two sci-fi films I admire.

After a great battle which destroyed more than half of the Earth, we reached to the year 2077. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is a guard and robot technician, his assignment is to guard the area from his parameter, makes sure every robot guard stays alive. What he guards is a huge cubicle who takes natural resource from Earth, he makes sure the cubicles won’t be disturbed by another being. Jack and his partner, Vika, are part of a big plan which mission is to get out from the Earth to head a new place they call home.

Last two weeks before his mission ends, Jack is shocked by many strange and out of ordinary activities on his guard area. On the way of finding a solution, he found surprising facts about himself and Earth in the past, makes him question about all the things he believe. This journey brought him to the destiny to be a hero that will save Earth forever.

Tom Cruise played properly fit as Jack Harper, nothing exaggerated. To me he played it very humanist, with a not-so-new story line. What makes me impressed is the visual effect and property design and the vehicles in the film. It feels like a combination of Tron and Rise of The Planet of The Apes with a brighter and lighter version, but still makes us feel amazed.

This is a must see movie for you sci-fi fans. Maybe in 2077, there will be a remake of this movie? Make sure you watch the 2013 version. May the force be with you…

This movie also made it to be our soundtrack pick. Check it out!
