On Saturday, I visited a little cupcake place in Durham that really is a hidden treasure and I really recommend going if you're a lover of sweet treats, especially cakes!
Be Tempted is a cute little cafe in Durham, just round the corner from the cathedral on Saddler Street (just up and across from Jack Wills) that sells cupcakes and other treats, as well as the usual sandwiches and coffees you'd expect.
We went with the intention to try out their cupcakes and believe me there's a lot to choose from. They're freshly baked each day so the flavours on offer can vary slightly, but I'm sure you'd be able to find one to your taste.
If cupcakes aren't your thing, there's traybakes and I'll definitely be trying out the Peppermint Crunch next time, it looks so good, although so does Rocky Road, which is always a good pick!I opted for the ham and cheese panini which was served with crisps (I asked for it without coleslaw) and I was very pleased. It was a good size for the money and was made fresh in the cafe, just behind where our table was, so we could almost see it being made. The salted caramel latte I had was lovely and just sweet enough. There were plenty other syrups to choose from for coffees/hot chocolates as well as all the regular ones you'd expect to see on the menu. After our paninis, it was time for a cupcake. Or at least it would have been until Megan came rushing back to the table to excitedly tell me about the cheesecake and I was sold. Two huge slices were brought over to our table and we left only a few crumbs. Ohhh man, I really think it's the best cheesecake I've ever had.
I definitely recommend going to Be Tempted if you're in Durham, although it is quite busy on a Saturday afternoon (we went along there around 2ish) so perhaps avoid the 'peak times'. I think this 'weekend places to visit' could be a new series on Hello Freckles, let me know what you think! You can follow me on Bloglovin | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube
