Weekend

By Mmadalynne @mmadalynne

was half and half. And I don’t mean that my week was like the coffee creamer. I spent the beginning half in Philadelphia, working and working like normal, and the latter half in New York City, attending a blogging workshop. Have you ever traveled alone? If so, do you experience the same feeling that I do – a mix of excitement, voyeurism, nostalgia, and homesickness. I love going out and ‘splorin’ (exploring) but at the same time, I feel a rubber band around me, pulling me back to my mundane, sewing life. Stepping outside my bubble, I see my life from the outside in, and that perspective is a great exercise, personally. The whole experience of a trip is a winding round up, down, to the left, and to the right, and at the end, I always end up somewhere new.

Enough Fruedian babble. While in the city, I squeezed in a couple of hours to fabric shop with Christine and Marcy. Oh man did I buy some good fabrics, stretch lace for my undies included. Did you know Spandex House has a second floor? Because they do and that’s where I found stretch velvet! Stretch velvet. Stretch velvet.
