"A day without sunshine is like, you know, night." ~ Steve Martin
NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It's my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian 'Quote Cup' passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, and sometimes some photos of family fun. I love trying new recipes...and love getting recipes you would like to share!
Tomorrow is our daughter's birthday so she got to pick the menu for dinner tonight. She picked steak and shrimp fondue, and as people were constantly asking for the fondue sauce to be passed someone joked that we should package it and make a million!
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
So it makes sense that the fondue sauce should be the recipe of the week. It's a super simple sauce that always disappears. We eat it with everything... steak, shrimp, pineapple, lobster... it is our meat fondue sauce that we have been using for more than 40 years. The photo isn't fancy, just an almost empty bowl of dipping sauce that everyone loves.
FONDUE SAUCE
- 1/2 cup Heinz 57 steak sauce
- 1/2 cup Miracle Whip
- 1/4 cup ketchup
