Wednesdays Unplugged - Davin's Marinated Grilled Chicken

NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It's my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian 'Quote Cup' passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, and sometimes some photos of family fun. I love trying new recipes...and love getting recipes you would like to share!

We took our daughter and grandson to Chicago over the July 4th holiday last week and had a wonderful time!  Stayed on the riverfront and had a great time introducing our grandson to this great city... including stopping at the Michael Jordan statue at United Center, going to the top of the Sears tower, taking a boat tour on the river, going to a Cubs game, visiting Navy Pier, seeing Sue the T-Rex at the Field Museum and touring the Robie House of Frank Lloyd Wright. We left a few things for next time... everyone is ready to go back!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

Our son has become quite the chef, and treated us to this marinated grilled chicken on Father's Day. He finally shared his recipe below... makes me think of my grandmother's recipes... quantities to taste...

DAVIN'S GRILLED MARINATED CHICKEN

  • Chicken pieces with skin and bones
  • Favorite BBQ sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Frank's Buffalo hot sauce
Combine favorite barbeque sauce with some soy sauce to thin, add Frank's Buffalo hot sauce to taste. Pour over chicken and marinate at least an hour. Grill on high for 6 minutes, skin side down; turn chicken over, turn down heat to medium and grill about another 6 minutes. Sharlene Hensrud, RE/MAX Results - Email - Minneapolis Realtor who cooks
